It does appear to be rather idle these days.

Not dead.... just a little sleepy. Lots of good info on the archives and we'll be adding more from time to time. What can I say... we all get busy right? But this site will always be here as a resource to those who can use it.

Seriously, what is it with your Scott Kurtz obsession?
For the record, I could not care less about this issue.

Uh... I wasn't aware it was an obsession. I looked at this story from a business perspective. It was published both at The Daily Cartoonist and Fleen. I figured the fact that Kurtz, one of the few web guys with a long standing print publishing contract, abandoning that contract and returning to self publishing; and his reasons for doing so were noteworthy.
I found the article interesting but I would have run it regardless of who the subject was because it says something about the state of print sales at brick and mortar stores which is something we all talk about here from time to time when we are discussing print distribution with places like Comic Monkey.
Sorry you didn't like the article but I didn't write it. I just linked it.

All in all, this was probably a good business move for Kurtz. It sounds like he was able to cut out the middle man, and now he will be able to have more control over and more profit from his trade compilations. Good for him. I would offer to shake his hand, but...
