Link for Skill Building
« on: January 09, 2010, 12:15:05 PM »
http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/26RGEZ/www.karmatoons.com/drawing/drawing.htm/r:t This site has some basic animation and cartooning knowledge that all starting cartoonists needs. I found it to be a good resource for myself as well to remind me of my roots.

William, the link is a nice resource, but I think the articles that this board are for are meant to be original, as in, written for this site. In addition, this particular board is for suggesting potential topics for the writing crew to consider.

It is a good post though. I'm going to move it to the art section though. Hope you don't mind William. A place for everything and everything in it's place. Otherwise I can't sleep at night.  ;D :-[

Its cool I just put it there for the suggestion to use it, I thought thats where things like that went :) . Also to Matt to just use original articles limits your resources and ability to learn.

Yeah but we can't repost someone's full article without thier consent. That's how cease and desist letters are born. ::)

LOL. That section of the forum is for suggestions for topics for original articles for the site, or existing articles that people here have the rights to. The article you posted is worth reading and a good source of information (I'm not an artist but it seems good) and this is the place for that sort of thing.

So while posting links here to resources like that is great and I want to certainly encourage that heavily we also want to start building our own library of professional articles.

And we will. Stating Monday.  ;)

Can we get this thread stickied up top and also a stickied 'Place to plug your comics' thread?

Otherwise the board's going to be overrun with this shit

I don't see a reason to sticky this particular thread. It is a good one but I don't feel it needs permanance. The promote your comic thread is a good idea though. I'll do that now.

Well if you sticky this thread, whenever someone shows up asking how to draw, you have a quick easy place to point them to. I mean at the very least you could point to it in the faq.

Heh. Just a thought
