Title: Good Day
Post by: Magister on February 16, 2010, 04:41:02 PM
Good day.

Todd Allen checking in.

Around these parts I'm probably best know as journalist/academic occasionally writing on webcomics for Comic Book Resources and Publisher's Weekly Comics Week.  I also wrote the Economics of Web Comics (yes, that's the AP spelling) while wearing my academic hat.  Anybody wants to participate in the survey for the 3rd edition of that book, ping me.  The update's happening as we speak.

A few months back, I started doing a webcomic for ChicagoNow, sort of the Chicago Tribune's (paid) response to the Huffington Post.  www.DivisionAndRush.com (http://www.divisionandrush.com) takes you right to it, since the navigation on the site is still fairly rough, even if vastly improved from November.

Howdy!

I love your art style and the line "Oh no he's after college girls!". Priceless.

Are you working digitally? Your stuff really looks like you used cutouts and have them on different planes. Reminds me of the effects Disney got with zooming through different planes of glass. Very nice.

Oh man. Now I want a shirt that says "Oh No! He's after college girls!"

Welcome to the site Todd. Anything I can do to help you out with your article let me know. Anytime you want to contribute here your thoughts are welcome.

Careful Rob -- if you got that shirt, the police would have the probable cause they've been waiting for.

Jeffa: I'm merely the scribe on this.  My understanding is that Scott (the artist) does the pencils and loose inks on bristol, then scans it in and adds the tone digitally.
