Title: Get some opinions on my book title
Post by: Travis Surber on April 17, 2010, 09:20:52 AM
I'm collecting the first 200 strips plus some bonus material in a book and I'm having a hard time with a title.I jus need some outside opinions please.

Pronounced Hay-net Haw-lore(Parody of the Lynyrd Skynyrd album)
Bored At Work(reflecting the strip's origins)
Unfriendly to Advertisers(Criticism leveled at the strip in a forum)
Print is Dead(Just think it's a funny name for a book)
Beware the Boon!(The baboon has turned out to be a very popular character.)

I'd say the last two are probably the best. The last one has the best "wacky cover" potential and will appeal to existing fans of the comic. The "print is dead" one might have a bit broader appeal but you are going to be defending your position at every convention and every idiot with a moment's free time is going to be pointing out that you wrote "print is dead" on a printed book.

Yeah probably the baboon one.  ;)

i'd go with beware the boon. it just sounds like it'd be more of a cool title.

Yeah, beware the boon. Print is dead is a funny title, but not very topical.

Ha, I can see the cover for Beware the Boon in my head, though I'm sure you have very different ideas.  I'm going to have to cast my vote with that one as well =D
