Title: Hello!
Post by: Lego M on May 08, 2010, 08:55:56 PM
Introductions are always so awkward. What to say...

I'm Lego, and I've gotta say I am RIDICULOUSLY nervous to be joining a forum full of other webcomic creators. I feel like I'm in a room full of people 100 times more talented than me. I write and draw a comic called Half Death (http://halfdeath.smackjeeves.com), which is basically a strip about alcoholic vampire geeks in LA. Don't ask me what the genre is, I'm still trying to work that one out.

Like every other artist in the world I don't think my art is as good as it could be and am constantly trying to improve. Knowing other people are looking at my work is a great motivator for that.

Uhh, what else... I guess that's about it. I'll probably just lurk around on here and read threads, but I figured I should say something to let you know I was here!

I know how you feel Lego... I'm new here too and it took me a while before I decided to start coming to places like this... But so far I've found that any reservations I might have had were unfounded. Everyone here has been really nice.

So Hi, I think your work is pretty cool.

Thanks for the welcome...! This does seem to be a pretty cool place. I'm sure I'll relax eventually. XD

Thanks Chris! For some reason your site is refusing to load for me... will have to try it again later.

Welcome welcome. All are welcome here. You don't have to be nervous or reserved. The only criticism you will receive on your work is what you solicit from the community. Most of us seem to know the general politeness rule of not saying anything if we don't have something nice to say and I'm rather proud to say that this community adheres to that principle.

Now if you espouse an opinion on a topic that someone doesn't agree with you should be prepared to defend your position with an open mind. But discourse is at the heart of learning. There's nothing wrong with that.

I hope you enjoy your time here and I hope you find it informative.
;)

Hi, Lego =D  I was intimidated when I joined my first forum, too.  Glad you took the plunge, and I'm looking forward to your contributions.

Haha I feel better already. XD Thanks for the welcome.

Heya Gibson, I recognized you from SJ! Haven't read much of Pictures Of You though not for lack of wanting to; the comic format is just too big on my crappy old monitor.

Welcome to the site and everything (Though technically you already introduced yourself to me earlier).
