My first attempt at a webcomic after many horrible video game sprite comics I used to have years ago, I'm going strong with Soul Symphony.

If I had to pick a genre, I'd say something like "high school fantasy/action/comedy/drama." In other words, I can't really describe it. It takes place in a high school with teens as the characters. It's not a gag-a-day, it has a story. The story involves both drama [character development, conflicts, etc.] and action [magic, monsters, fighting] with comedy peppered into the dialogue.

The story revolves around different teenage musicians [from classical music to rock music] and how one girl is chosen to solve their life problems. To do so, she must magically enter their souls and clean up whatever problems there are inside.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but it's reasonable to say that my art has improved over the course of the pages I've done so far. So...if you're like me and the first thing you judge about a comic is its art, do me a favor and please look at the latest few pages, not the first few. I'm sure you guys know how it feels.

You have to look at the first pages, or else you won't be able to see any evolution of your style. :)

I thought the quality was quite high right from the start, to be honest. I saw more progress in your writing than in your art to be honest. A few lines in the first few pages didn't really click for me, (but what do I know, English isn't my first language.) but I found that it flowed much better later on.

I know you HAVE TO look at the first few pages, of course. I'm just saying for people's first impressions of the art style, the latest pages are better.

Trust me, I love to look at the first few and get a huge confidence boost over my art evolution  ;D

Thanks. I'm finding that writing is just as hard as the actual drawing, if not harder.

Interesting idea. Familiar territory with a musical twist.

Your linework has gotten progressively better and I see now you're getting into color. You have a way to go there but if the progress on your linework is any indication you should get better in time.

I suggest you check out Lar deSouza's recorded Ustreams. The man is a literal font of information when it comes to inking and coloring digitally.

This recording in particular (all five or so hours of it) is especially good.

There are 5 parts to the show.... you can find them all labeled "Art Request Show 02-12-10" and then parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 in the archive.

Thanks. I've seen 1 or 2 of Lars's ustreams, so I'll definitely check those out when I get a chance.
