Goats was my initial influence.  Jon went from this to this, so that always gives me hope.

Generally, anyone who started out with, shall we say, sub-average artwork and progressed to a high level of drawing aptitude.  Jeph also qualifies for this.  Even Fred Gallagher has gotten much better since he started.

Hmm...not to sound mean or anything, but I was more inspired by really bad webcomics. I figured if they could do it, I could do it, and maybe do better. Of course, I have found inspiration from some good ones as well.
