Hi, my name is Alex Dudley, and Yamino (of Sister Claire fame) told me about this thread.
I'm currently at my last year at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and I always wanted to make cartoons for a living, and ever since Dave Kellet and Scott Kurtz spoke at the school, I was inspired to pursue webcomics as a way for people to see my cartoons.
I have a website with some of my comics there. I also have a DA account.
I'm actually excited to be here, as this gives me a chance to get tips and advice from other webcomic makers.

Hi Alex, welcome to the board!

Had a quick look at your site - you've got some really good stuff on there  :) Actually going to art school has apparently worked for you.

Small criticism: I didn't see the classic-animation-style dog namechecked anywhere when I was looking over the Conroy Cat strips. It's not a particularly glaring omission and it doesn't really have any impact on the gags, but I'd recommend naming the character for brand-identification purposes if nothing else.

Anyway, welcome once more, and good luck with the site  :)

Welcome, Alex! Your art is really top-notch. Have to say I'm really impressed by most of the SCAD grads. Good school. I love the Savannah area too. Took the family camping at Skidaway Island State Park down there a few years back and had a great time. The whole coastal area of Georgia is pretty nice. I believe we have the most maritime forest on the east coast despite having a small coastline. Lots of cool islands to explore if you are into outdoorsy stuff. I believe the state park system is the best thing about Georgia. Of course this isn't a hiking, biking and kayaking forum, so I'll shut up  now...  ;D

What's up Alex?  Nice strip you got there.  As for the art I would like to see you apply a bit more line weight, vary the line thinkness more.  It will really make your comic pop.  Otherwise things just tend to blend into one another... and we JUST can't have that :P  Cool work though
Sometimes, you have to take a step back and access the fact that you're a moron.  What?  Well you ARE.

Welcome to the site man. I hope things go as well for you as they seem to be going for Yamino.  ;)
