The Specialists

The Specialists is a long-form superhero comic set during an alternate World War II. What if the Nazis developed true Übermenschen (supermen) during World War II? How would the Allies respond? How would the outcome of the war be changed?

We're fairly new (we launched in mid-June) but we're a good way into our first chapter. We update every Monday.

Thanks for looking and we hope you like it.

That's really cool. A very interesting concept, and the art is really good.

I like the concept as well. I'm a fan of the WW II setting done right, and so far so good. I do enjoy the fact you've gone in depth enough to research the actual German for some of the pages, so that's a plus on authenticity. And I'm led to believe by the prologue and by the mention of a "golem" that this is a world with several fantastical aspects. With the werewolf-like character that could be a continuation of this or an indication of SCIENCE! in this universe.

The pacing is a little slow at one a week. I would recommend possibly using text passages to supplement the actual comics. Perhaps in the form of war news articles, bits of background on characters, or random trivia about this world. Stuff that will keep people coming back to your website over the rest of the week.

So far I'm enjoying the story. I'll check back every so often to see how things are progressing.  ;)

We got the German translations kinda wonky to start (curse you, Google language tools!!!), but we've gotten some help from some people fluent in German to help us out with getting the language correct.

The interplay of the fantastic and SCIENCE! will become clear eventually. It's one of the prominent themes of the comic and one of the things that drove us when we were creating the characters and figuring out how our alternate WWII differs from waht actually happened.

Yeah, it's true that updating weekly means the story is going to unfold pretty slow. We've resigned ourselves to that fact. And unless some wealthy benefactor backs a dumptruck full of money up to my front door and I can quit my day job, one page a week is all I'm going to be able to crank out. If I want to maintain the current quality of the art, that is. My co-creator's got some plans for supplemental stuff besides his blog posts.
